How Our Lice Guarantee Compares to Other Clinics
Why most lice guarantees fall shortMost lice clinics will tell you they offer a guarantee. Very few will tell you that their guarantee only covers treatment failure — not reinfestation. The distinction matters a lot.
Treatment failure means the lice that were on your head at your appointment weren't fully killed. Most clinics can prove this didn't happen (it's less than 1% of cases) by inspecting the new lice under magnification to determine their age. If the lice are newer than your appointment, the clinic says it wasn't a treatment failure — it was a new infestation, and you pay again.
Reinfestation means your kid caught lice again after leaving our clinic. Maybe from the same sleepover or classroom that gave them lice the first time. Maybe from a sibling who was missed. Maybe from a pillow or hat nobody thought to check. These are the situations parents actually worry about — and most clinic guarantees don't cover them.
The leading national chain's published policy reads: "We cannot promise there will be no re-infestation... In the unlikely event of a treatment failure, we will re-treat you at no cost."
Translation: if your kid catches lice again at school next week, that's not covered. You pay for the next treatment. Many clinics also require a paid follow-up appointment within 7–10 days just to stay eligible for the guarantee at all.

If lice return within 60 days of your appointment, we'll provide one free re-treatment — plus checks — for each person we treated the first time, at our nearest clinic. That's the whole policy.
- Everyone with lice was treated by us within the last 60 days.
- Everyone in your household — and anyone in regular contact with your household, including split-household family members — was checked and cleared or treated by us at the initial visit.
- You can provide physical evidence (for example, a dead louse saved from your comb) — or we find one during the guarantee appointment. If no evidence is found, we have to charge for the checks.
- All guaranteed checks and re-treatments are completed within 24 hours of the initial free re-treatment appointment.
You get 60 days of coverage the moment you leave our chair. Most clinics give you 30.
